Presenter

Adam Ingram
Manager, Business Continuity and Emergency Management, Duquesne Light

In the energy sector, traditional exercise formats and methodologies are often insufficient to address contemporary risks. This presentation evaluates common exercise practices and highlights shortcomings in their execution whilst looking to increase organizational and grid resilience. Advanced strategies for building effective exercises, conducting comprehensive after-action reviews (AARs), setting precise objectives, fostering robust partnerships, and enhancing overall resilience and team dynamics are explored.

Adam Ingram serves as the manager of business continuity and emergency management at Duquesne Light Company. In this capacity, he exercises comprehensive oversight of business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency management, and incident management functions. Prior to this, he held the position of Planning Manager at Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, as well as the Director of Seneca County Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral and Anatomical Neuroscience, along with a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration, and a Master of Science in Disaster Medicine. Outside of his role with DLC, Adam stays active with Team Rubicon, FEMA's Ohio Task Force 1 (OHTF1), and the Ohio Mortuary Operational Response Team (OMORT).
