New Texas RE President and CEO

The Texas RE Board of Directors is delighted to introduce Jim Albright as Texas RE’s new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) beginning January 1, 2021. Mr. Albright will be succeeding Lane Lanford, who has been Texas RE’s CEO since February 2012 and announced in March 2020 he’d be retiring at the end of the year.

Jim Albright has served as Texas RE’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the past seven years. He leads the Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program (CMEP), the Reliability Monitor department, and also serves as chair of the Align Project, the largest implementation in ERO Enterprise history.

"Texas RE is very fortunate to pass the baton of executive leadership to Jim Albright,” said Texas RE Board of Directors Chair Fred N. Day IV. “The Board conducted a very thorough search and while there were many excellent candidates, Jim was clearly the most capable of building upon Texas RE’s many successes while also providing a fresh vision for the organization’s future. He’ll provide a strong voice for our Region at the NERC level while continuing to pursue innovative ways to communicate with our stakeholders and ensure electric reliability for all Texans.”

Before joining Texas RE, Mr. Albright served at the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) for over 15 years, including as the Deputy Executive Director. Prior to his work at the PUCT, he worked in finance and technology positions at the Texas Department of Economic Development, USAA Investment Management Company, and Grant Thornton. Mr. Albright earned a Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Texas - Permian Basin.

Please join the Board and all Texas RE employees in congratulating Jim Albright on his new role. Questions can be sent to information@texasre.org.
