Texas RE's 2025 Assessment of Reliability Performance for the Texas Interconnection is now available. This report evaluates the electric grid’s performance for the previous year and helps identify electric reliability and security risk areas to prioritize improvements.
Overall, the Bulk Power System (BPS) in Texas performed well in 2025, though risk hours continue to shift (due to growing solar and battery penetration) and reserve margins show deficiencies related to the integration of large loads. Inverter-based resources (IBRs) continue to rapidly grow while initiatives like the Texas Energy Fund have supported additional dispatchable generation.
The report shows a comprehensive picture of the health of our Interconnection, including new innovations and evolving risks, and identifies specific actions that can be taken to support the continued reliability of the BPS.
