Texas RE Announcement
Executive Leadership

Texas RE President and CEO W. Lane Lanford announced today that he will retire in December 2020. Mr. Lanford has been with Texas RE for almost ten years and has been the organization's chief executive since February 2012. The Texas RE Board of Directors and staff thank Mr. Lanford for his committed service to the company and wish him the best in his next chapter.

Texas RE Board of Directors Chair Fred N. Day IV stated:

"Texas RE has been very fortunate to have such an excellent executive in Lane Lanford for the last eight years. Under his steadfast leadership, Texas RE has become a well-respected reliability leader at the NERC level while still maintaining the Region's uniqueness and independence. On a personal note, I've enjoyed working with Lane and send my best to him and his family as they embark on life's next adventure.

We announced a nominating committee at the February Board of Directors meeting to search for a new Independent Director to serve starting January 1, 2021. I am asking the nominating committee to also conduct a search for Texas RE's next CEO. The Board appreciates Lane continuing in his role until late in the year to give us time to conduct a thoughtful and comprehensive search for his successor."
