Crystal Ashby is an accomplished senior executive, board member, and lawyer with more than 32 years of leadership success—particularly in the energy sector. Ms. Ashby’s corporate leadership experience comprises a successful 22-year career with BP in roles spanning government and external affairs, law, compliance and ethics, university relations, and retail. She is a valuable asset to businesses and boards with expertise in risk assessment, crisis and change management, emergency response, strategic analysis, global business management, governance, diversity, and human resources management.

Ms. Ashby is an NACD Fellow, member of the International Women’s Forum, and currently serves as a Director on the boards of five organizations. She is Vice Chair of The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and sits on the National Board of Genesys Works, the Holocaust Museum Houston Board, the Women Business Collaborative (WBC) Board, and the University of Michigan College of Engineering Dean’s Leadership Advisory Board. She chairs the University of Michigan College of Engineering Diversity, Equity & Inclusion External (DEI) Advisory Council. Her Director roles also include Secretary, Audit Chair, Membership Co-Chair, and Committee Member of various committees, including: Development, Nominations, Governance, and Marketing.

Ms. Ashby has been honored as one of the Uptown Professional Top 100 Executives in America, Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women, and the National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas. She is the recipient of a Congressional Uplift Award.

Ms. Ashby earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan. She is currently serving a three-year term on the Texas RE Board that runs through December 31, 2022
