SAR-002 Standard Drafting Team: Development and Documentation of Regional UFLS Programs

The SAR-002 Standard Drafting Team (SDT), reporting to the Reliability Standards Committee (RSC), is a group of technical experts responsible for developing a proposed standard based upon the approved Standard Authorization Request (SAR) – Development and Documentation of Regional UFLS (Under-Frequency Load Shedding) Programs. The SDT was assigned by the ERCOT Reliability and Operations Subcommittee (ROS) and was approved by the RSC.

The SDT is responsible for fulfilling a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) directive to develop the technical details of the UFLS regional standard to support a new continent-wide standard (PRC-300-CWS-1). In addition, this team will review and comment appropriately on the continent-wide standard on behalf of the region.

Collectively, the SDT has the necessary technical expertise and work process skills pertaining to the particular SAR subject. The SDT reviews stakeholders’ comments and considers modifications to the draft standards. It includes a member of the Texas RE staff and the SAR’s originator in addition to the field subject matter experts assigned by ROS. All SDT meetings are open to all interested participants.
