Joint Registration Organization

A generation operator (GOP), generation owner (GO), transmission operator (TOP), transmission owner (TO), or  distribution provider (DP) may apply with Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) to become part of a joint registration organization (JRO) agreement. If approved, the JRO would be registered with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and listed on NERC’s Compliance Registry External Link page.

A JRO is responsible for its own function(s) and the function(s) that it has agreed to perform on the behalf of one or more of its members. A JRO bears the responsibility for all the requirements obligated by NERC Reliability Standards related to those functions.

Typical examples of organizations that should consider a JRO are the joint action agency or the generation-and-transmission cooperative.

Below, find the application forms for NERC Reliability Standards Responsibility Certification/JRO Registration. Each entity with an ownership or operating interest in the resource/generation facility must execute the certification form. Return completed forms to Texas RE’s NERC Registration External Link.
