Posted Violations – NERC Standards

The focus of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is to ensure the reliability of the bulk power system by fairly and consistently enforcing compliance with the NERC standards. NERC posts the enforcement actions taken by Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) and other regional entities in an effort to prevent future system disturbances and improve reliability.

All enforcement actions include correction of any issues identified where a mandatory NERC standard is not being fully met by a registered entity – efforts are already either complete or underway to address associated reliability issues.

United States law requires that NERC’s enforcement actions involving entities operating in the continental United States be filed publicly with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which has oversight of NERC’s activities as the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO). Any penalties or other enforcement actions become effective 30 days after filing unless FERC moves to review the penalty or settlement or a proceeding is initiated.

A list of all posted violations of the NERC Reliability Standards can be found on the NERC website
