W. Lane Lanford

W. Lane Lanford joined Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) as Director of Compliance in August 2010 and was approved by the Texas RE Board of Directors to be the Chief Compliance Officer in December 2010. In February 2012, the Texas RE Board approved Mr. Lanford as President and Chief Executive Officer after five months as Interim CEO following the retirement of Larry Grimm in September 2011.

Mr. Lanford previously held the position of Executive Director of the PUCT for the past 12 years. During his tenure at the PUCT, he managed the overall operations and resources of the PUCT and the related legislative issues and requests and proved to be a strong, consistent leader. 

Mr. Lanford has a Bachelors in Business and, before joining the PUCT under Chairman Pat Wood, III, he had extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, including five years with the Texas Department of Economic Development (formerly the Texas Department of Commerce), as a director and the Chief Administrative Officer and many years’ management and information technology experience with Grant Thornton and several financial institutions.
