Mark Walker is director of regulatory affairs for NRG Texas, managing the regulatory and governmental relations of NRG Texas (the second-largest electric power producer in Texas) with current emphasis on NRG’s repowering initiatives (new nuclear, gas, and coal electric generation development), electric market matters, operations, and commercial activities. In addition, Mr. Walker represents NRG Texas in proceedings before the Public Utility Regulatory Commission of Texas and other agencies.

Prior to joining NRG Texas, he served as deputy general counsel for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. Previously, Mr. Walker was associate general counsel for the Lower Colorado River Authority, where he focused on electric utility regulatory matters and environmental permitting, policy, and compliance during his 10 years there.

Mr. Walker received his bachelor of arts degree from Baylor University and his juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law.
