On February 5, 2010, the Reliability Standards Committee accepted the second draft of regional standard BAL-001-TRE-01 (work product of SAR-003) to post for public comment.  This draft standard and all supporting documents have now been posted for your review on the BAL-001 Standard Drafting Team page on Texas RE’s website as well as on the Texas RE Reliability Standards Tracking Site.  The 30-day public comment period opened today, Friday, February 12, 2010, and will close on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at midnight.

Anyone who is interested in this draft standard may comment.  If you wish to comment, you must be registered on the Reliability Standards Tracking  site, and you must submit your comments through the site.  Directions for registering and for commenting are on the site.

Technical Workshop

The BAL-001-TRE-01 Standard Drafting Team will hold a technical workshop following the RSC Meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2010, to present the draft standard and its background, and to answer technical questions related to this standard.  The workshop will be held at ERCOT Austin, Room 206 B from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will include Web Ex.  Applicable entities (BA, GO) are encouraged to attend this workshop to learn about frequency response in the ERCOT region and to see how this regional standard will improve Interconnection reliability with better frequency response.  An agenda will be posted at least a week prior to the workshop.  If you plan to attend in person, please RSVP to rsm@texasre.org.
